Impelled by Jesus’ mission and inspired by Délia Tétreault, MIC Foundress’ spirit of thanksgiving expressed in her evangelizing mission, the Immaculate Conception Academy with a distinct Chinese Filipino character, provides for a human and Christian formation through an integral curriculum to form young women leaders, witnessing to Christ and committed to compassionate service.


ICA is an educational institution for girls, which is CATHOLIC and COLLEGE PREPARATORY with a distinct, CHINESE-FILIPINO character.


It is a CATHOLIC SCHOOL, which offers an educational program guided by Catholic beliefs and doctrines. Its religious practices, liturgies and other acts of worship are Catholic. The values it inculcates are Gospel-centered, and the thrust of individual formation it undertakes is Catholic in orientation. Foremost among ICA’s concerns is cultivating and nurturing in the students as well as in the faculty and staff, a lively Faith in Jesus Christ. As TRUE CHRISTIANS, they will endeavor to build a community of faith in school, at home, and within the larger community which is the Catholic Church. Eventually they will spread the Good News-Christ.


It is a COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL whose educational program is geared towards the development of the necessary skills, attitudes, values and proper study habits that are characteristic of a COMPETENT STUDENT. This student, imbued with a sense of excellence is self-reliant, possesses a life-long love for learning and is adequately equipped to cope with a fast changing society and the continuing demands of higher education.


It is a FILIPINO SCHOOL whose educational program aims to inculcate a sound and balanced nationalism in the students and develop in them the qualities of a COMMITTED CITIZEN – appreciative of her Filipino cultural heritage, loyal to the Filipino nation, and actively involved in the building of a truly Christian Philippine Society where harmony, justice and peace prevail.


Owing to the distinct heritage of its students, ICA aims to foster in them an appreciation of their Chinese cultural traditions and help them integrate these with the Filipino traditions.


With the Blessed Mother as its patroness, ICA strives to develop in the students the tender yet firm disposition and the joyful and grateful attitude of Mary towards all that she has received. Endowed with these Marian qualities, a cultured and refined ICAN exhibits preference for the good, true and beautiful, manifests humility about the gifts she possesses and generously shares these with others in need; chooses what is clean and decent, what is pure and just, what is elegant yet simple. She accepts her role as a woman and exudes femininity in taste and ways that are warm, sincere and caring. Through her thoughts and actions, she promotes and sustains the best that simplicity, unity, harmony and peace bring.


ICA lives in a paradoxical world where people are easily connected by technology and yet homes are fragmented and broken; where competition is valued as much as collaboration; where religion brings people together but also tears them apart; and where love abounds yet discrimination persists. As a Catholic educational institution, ICA is highly challenged by the call of the Gospel to lead its students to be discerning citizens of this globalized world where values may be compromised for the sake of success, where individual gain and personal ambitions may be given priority over the common good.


ICA commits itself to be a living witness of the Good News Christ by promoting the dignity of the human person, peace and justice, and care of the environment. Thus, the MIC educators, with their lay collaborators, shall lead ICANs to participate in social transformation and live out the values of FAITH and SERVICE.


As a Woman of FAITH, an ICAn, like Mary, has a personal relationship with our loving and merciful Triune God – the Father our Creator, Jesus Christ our Savior and the Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier. She meets Christ in the Scripture, in prayer, in the sacraments, in the family and in the community.


As a Woman of SERVICE, she is joyful and grateful for all the blessings she receives and she serves God in other people, especially the marginalized members of the society; she shows respect for the integrity of creation, and promotes justice, peace and unity.


In ICA’s core values of Faith and Service are anchored all the other gospel values of hope, love, truth, justice, gratitude, compassion, collaboration and peace.

Educational institutions are highly challenged as economic, social and political situations in the country are rapidly changing and disturbed by the dynamics of human and organizational turn of events. In this kind of situation, ICA cannot afford to merely survive the times. ICA believes it has to live and lead in a world linked by technology and mobilized by people who are driven, paradoxically, both by the spirit of collaboration and competition in an interactive society.


The MIC educators, together with their lay collaborators, believe that a person imbued with the values of Faith and Service will genuinely work for economic equity, peace, and progress for all.


FAITH is a belief in and a personal relationship with our loving and merciful Triune God, the Father, our Creator, Jesus Christ, our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier.
