02 Mar Soldiers of Christ: “Off to Mission!”

“Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.”

Our newly confirmed Grade 6 pupils heard these words last February 15, 2020 when they were being anointed with holy chrism, the last rite of Confirmation. That day marked their full membership into the Catholic Church. Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian, S.V.D., D.D., Bishop of Bangued, Abra, ministered this year’s Confirmation. The 223 newly confirmed joyfully presented themselves before God and the Church, owned their Catholic faith when they renewed the baptismal promises their parents and godparents professed in their behalf when they were still babies, received the gifts of the Holy Spirit in abundance and humbly received the mark of God, making them full-fledged members of His Church.

With the grace of the Holy Spirit, it is the school’s hope and prayer that the newly confirmed become witnesses to Christ in words and deeds. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide them in whatever decisions they make especially in facing life’s challenges. May they become joyful and grateful soldiers of Christ.
