Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Policy Notice
Purpose:
Immaculate Conception Academy of San Juan, Inc. operates CCTV systems to ensure the safety, security, and protection of its community, assets, and facilities. CCTV is used primarily to monitor the ingress and egress of people, detect and prevent crimes or violations of school policies, and support overall security objectives.
Scope:
This policy applies to all individuals within the premises, including employees, students, visitors, contractors, and any person entering the campus or facility. CCTV coverage includes, but is not limited to, gates, perimeter fences, roads, sidewalks, corridors, stairways, parking areas, sports facilities, cafeterias, offices, libraries, theaters, chapels, faculty rooms, areas of transaction and risk, open and common areas, and selected rooms.
Policy:
- CCTV systems record and store images, both still and moving, in designated areas.
- Recorded footage may be used for security monitoring, incident investigation, enforcement of school policies, or when required by law.
- Access to CCTV records is strictly limited to authorized personnel.
- CCTV footage may be disclosed to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or other authorized third parties when permitted by law and deemed appropriate.
- CCTV records are retained for up to 30 days from the date of generation unless a longer retention period is required by law, court order, or ongoing administrative/disciplinary investigations.
Rights and Privacy:
All CCTV operations are conducted in compliance with applicable data privacy laws. Individuals have the right to inquire about or request access to CCTV footage in which they appear, subject to legal and policy limitations.
