Grant-In-Aid Scholarship Program (GSP)

Background:

Since the start of SY 2006-2007, the ICA Greenhills Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (ICAGhSFI) has been assisting academically qualified but financially needy students of Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA).  At present, it supports the education of 50 ICAns, who would otherwise not be able to benefit from it.


Types of Scholarships Available:

  • Full  free tuition
  • Subsidized tuition (3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 free tuition)

Note: Remainder of tuition fee and other fees are paid up for by the student concerned.


Grant Limitations:

  1. Grants are good for one (1) school year only.     
  2. At present, grant is given to only one (1) or two (2) children per family.
  3. Grants are only open to incoming Grade 2 – High 4 applicants who have been enrolled in ICA for at least two (2) school years inclusive of the current school year.
  4. Preference will be given to applicants in the higher elementary and secondary levels.

General Criteria of Eligibility:

  1. Student’s family cannot afford ICA education for financial reasons
  2. Applicant must maintain an average grade of at least 80% or its equivalent and without a failing mark in any subject in all quarters of the current school year and the immediate past school year.
  3. Applicant’s conduct must not be below B+ and should not have been subjected to any minor or major offense in all quarters of the current school year and the immediate past school year.

How to apply:

  1. Submission of the application letter by the parent/guardian stating the reason/need for the grant
    -     on or before end of October of the current school year
  2. Release of the status of the application to the parent/guardian
    -     one week after submission of the application letter
  3. If eligible to apply, secure the Grant-in-Aid Application Form and requirement list
    -      on the second week of November of the current school year
  4. Filing of the completed Grant-in Aid Application Form and ALL
    requirements
    -     on or before the last week of January of the current school year

    Note:
    a.    Incomplete requirements will NOT be processed.
    b.    INCOMPLETE OR INCORRECT DATA/INFORMATION may mean denial of application.
    c.    Parents may be interviewed as deemed necessary.
    d.    Home visitation is required for new applicants; for old applicants, anytime the Home Visitation Committee deems it necessary.

  5. Release of the results of the application to the parent/guardian
    -    on the first week of May of the next school year
  6. Enrolment of the accepted applicant
    -      last day of the official enrolment for the next school year

Grant Forfeiture:

For the parents/guardians:

  1. Misrepresentation of information and/or falsification of documents and/or
  2. Improved financial condition
  3. Other reasons determined by the school
