To develop love for reading, the Kinder-Prep Faculty together with the students and parents, worked in exploring the exquisite world of literature through the celebration of the Book Week held from September 26 – October 7, 2011. The event culminated on October 7 with an enchanting parade showcasing Kinder-Prep faculty and students in their all-time favourite book character costumes. A mother captured the attention of the crowd with her beautiful story about a dragon. Everyone was astonished by the wonderful father and child rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (theme song of The Wizard of Oz), truly stunned with a song number by Ursula (villain in The Little Mermaid), and delighted with a surprise stage presentation of Little Red Riding Hood by chosen Kinder students. Another highlight of the event was a short skit about taking care of books performed by both Kinder-Prep teachers and students. Lastly, the Kinder-Prep Department extending their gratitude to all the Kinder-Prep students who supported the Book Drive, which will give happiness and hope to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. The event truly uncovered the wonderful talents of our dear ICAns and really helped them understand the joy of reading books.
