VOX ANGELI CHILDREN'S CHOIR Wins Champion Award in Hong Kong Competition

The Vox Angeli Children's Choir with conductor Dr. Raul Navarro, returned to Manila victorious winning the GOLD as well as the most prestigious CHAMPIONSHIP award for the Children's Choir category of the 2008 Hong Kong International Youth and Children's Choir Festival held from July 14-17, 2008!
Vox Angeli also proudly represented the Philippines during the World Sings for Olympics concert in Hong Kong with international superstar Jackie Chan which will be aired at Phoenix TV in 200 countries during the Olympics opening week this August.
Vox Angeli is composed of children ages 7 to 16 year-old students from different schools and they serve the Santuario de San Jose Parish every Sunday. Nine of these members are ICAns (5 Grades School and 4 High school):
The choir members are honed under the mentorship of conductor, Dr. Raul Navarro, chair of the Choral Conducting and Choral Ensemble Department of the UP College of Music . Vox Angeli's training has been sustained and supported by generous donors, benefactors, sponsors and parents since its formation in October 2007.
Highlights of the past year have been their performance with Asia's Songbird, Ms. Regine Velasquez and their participation in the 2007 Himig Pasko Choir Competition organized by the Cultural Center of the Philippines last December where the choir emerged as 1 st runner up. |
