The couple, Sebastian Antonio and Betty (ICA Batch ’63) Go Roxas-Chua, known to friends as Basty and Betty are the country representatives of Rosary for Life (RFL) Philippines.  RFL is a peaceful prayer movement founded in Brooklyn, New York by Mrs. Winifred Powers nineteen (19) years ago, to defend the life of the unborn and for the preservation of the sanctity of life, threatened by euthanasia and mercy killing.  Its members pledge to pray all the mysteries of the rosary an hour a week at the time and day of his/her choosing.

Rosary for Life was launched in the Philippines on November 11, 2003 in the presence of its founder, Wyn Powers and National Chaplain, Archbishop Paciano B. Aniceto, D.D., Chairman of CBCP – Episcopal Commission of Family and Life.  It is present in all the States of America and 28 countries all over the world.  On its 8th Anniversary, RFL reached a membership of over 160,000 and these pledges are submitted to the Holy See.

Basty and Betty returned recently from New York where they attended the 19th anniversary of the founding of Rosary for Life International and received a special Award from the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano, Vicar General and Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn and Wyn Powers, founder of Rosary for Life, in recognition of their dedication to the movement.  They were also cited for their work, together with Mr. Bo Sanchez, in providing shelter for pregnant women in crisis.  This program is called Grace to be Born.  In two and a half years since its opening, Grace to be Born has already administered to over 100 pregnant women and has saved 86 babies from the threats of ABORTION.

In further recognition of their service to the Catholic Church and to men, they were honored with membership to the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, through an Investiture that took place in the Cathedral of St. Patrick, New York, on October 01, 2011, together with 50 other ladies, 50 knights, 50 priests, and 50 promoted members in all categories of the Eastern Lieutenancy of the United States.

We praise and thank the Lord for the special award given to Eucharistic Minister Basty and CWL-SSA President, Betty Roxas-Chua, in recognition of their dedication in spreading Rosary for Life and providing shelter to pregnant women in crisis.
