ICA hosted an advent recollection facilitated by Fr. Johnny Go last December 10, 2011 entitled Advent: A Season of Surprises. The recollection was attended by members of the ICA and Xavier faculty and staff and some parishioners from Mary the Queen.

In his talk, Fr. Go explored the idea of Christmas coming as a ‘surprise’ for not only us, who continue to celebrate the occasion every year, but also to the important characters in The Nativity story – Mary, Joseph, even the angel Gabriel – as seen in a film adaptation of the story which shows a unique angle. The film was aired on BBC.

He ended with a challenge for the attendees to try and ‘surprise’ not only themselves, but God as well this Christmas season.
