Admission

ADMISSION FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2018 – 2019

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ACADEMY is a Catholic institution of learning that serves the Chinese-Filipino community. She offers pre-elementary, elementary, and secondary education – a service characterized by equity, relevance, and efficiency.By equity, ICA strives to achieve democratization of access to quality education. She supports the principle that everyone has an equitable right to education and factors such as economic status and racial differences are not deterrent to this right. Nonetheless, while she upholds the principle of equity, she remains true to her commitment to academic excellence. Hence, intelligence test scores remain as primary determinants for admission to ICA. Any female child, who meets this academic requirement and all other conditions of secondary importance, is assured of admission to ICA, regardless of factors stated earlier. Although grades in the Chinese Language Arts is not included in the averaging system, it is pre-requisite for each student. This is to keep its uniqueness and historicity as expressed in its vision-mission.

VISION – A woman of faith and service grateful for her gifts, inspired by Mary Immaculate, witnessing to the Good News-Christ, to all people particularly to the Chinese-Filipinos, and participating in building a just and peaceful society where God reigns.

MISSION – Impelled by Jesus’ mission and inspired by Delia Tetrault, MIC Foundress’ spirit of thanksgiving expressed in her evangelizing mission, the Immaculate Conception Academy with a distinct Chinese-Filipino character, provides for a human and Christian formation through an integral curriculum to form young women leaders, witnessing to Christ and committed to compassionate service.

ICA believes that the educational system must be relevant to the times if it wishes to be of service to society. ICA acknowledges that the realization of a truly humane, harmonious, just, progressive, and peaceful Philippines must be accompanied by Christian social transformation which can only take place with the inner change in each individual member of society. ICA’s fundamental task then, is to provide the students with an integrated and process-oriented curriculum that offers varied learning activities that will teach them to make choices, to interconnect, to be mission-minded. These learning experiences are Gospel-centered, life-promoting and humanistic for the effective nurturing of faith that fosters a selfless love of God, of country, of neighbor and of self. This curriculum, being given in an effective learning climate that focuses on the students’ growing awareness and appreciation of their God given powers and capabilities, will eventually encourage them to pursue their maximum development as persons and ultimately attain excellence for nation-building, world peace and for forming a global family.

In her admission policy, ICA reaches out to the Chinese Filipino community in the country as well as other nationalities who are interested to learn the Chinese language as well.
